The facilities in the Institution for the management of the following types of degradable and non-degradable waste
- Solid waste management – The waste is generated by all sorts of routine activities carried out in the institute that includes paper, plastic, glass, metals, food, etc. The floor peons of each floor collect, clean and compile the waste in dustbins provided floor wise. Authorized agency collects the waste from college main dustbin and recycles and disposes at the landfills authorized by the government. Colored dustbins are used to collect the solid waste in segregated form. This is then subsequently collected by the local Municipality from the college campus. The Green-colored dustbins are used for wet and biodegradable wastes generated from the kitchen of the college. These dustbins are placed near the Kitchen and in each classrooms. Blue dustbins are used for disposal of plastic wrappers, papers, bottles and other stationary materials wastages.
- Liquid Waste Management – All waste water lines from toilets, washrooms etc are connected with municipal drainage mains. The drainage lines are further connected with the sewage treatment plant of the municipal corporation.
- E waste Management - E waste like nonworking switches, electric cables, keyboard, mouse, etc are collected and kept in the store room and disposed every year accordingly to scrap merchants. Also teachers taking Environmental subjects create awareness among students regarding hazards of E waste through PPT and lectures. Old computer and CPU are repaired by our technicians and reused.
- Trimmed grasses of the lawn and dried leaves are directly used as a green fertilizer for campus garden.
- Xerox papers are re used
- Files are reused in next academic year if the condition is pretty good.
- Furniture including benches are repaired and not scrapped or sold
- Color coded dustbins are used for different types of waste like dry, wet and e waste
- The entire campus is a "plastic free zone" and the institution sincerely puts efforts to maintain the same.
- Waste material like plastic, papers etc are collected and sold to scrap vendor's periodically.
- Efforts have been taken to produce compost manure from garden waste and dumped into pit.
- Banners are reused unless torn.
- Organic waste and portion of the Biodegradable waste is used as manure for the plants in the garden
- Use of printing paper is done both sides
