Our journey started from Nalasopara near Chakreshwar Lake.We gathered there at 6.00 A.M. and reached to Panvel at 9.30 a.m. At the entrance there were guards who checked our bags and told regarding cleanliness. There was one small canteen we had breakfast their. Mr. Majid Shaikh was our trekking expert and guided us for trekking .By taking hault at various points we reached at Karnala fort which was 1200 ft. high at 2.30 p.m. We rested half an hour in fort and we headed towards down. The fort was very beautiful and we could see the whole surrounding from the top.

Mr.Majid Sir gave us a lot of information about fort. Karnala Fort is actually consisted of two forts one was at higher level and other at lower. It is also called Pandus tower. This structure was used as watch Tower when the fort was occupied. There is a Bhavani Temple dedicated to Bhavani Goddess and it is located at the bottom of the fort. In 1670 Shivaji Maharaj conquered it from Mughals. After the death of Shivaji the fort was taken over by Aurangzeb and it remained in the hands of Mughals till 1740. After visit of fort and trekking we assembled in the canteen for the lunch. We also visited to Karnala Bird Sanctuary. We could see different types of birds and animal such as peacock, parrot and rabbit. From Panvel we started our journey and we reached to Nallasopara at 9.30 p.m. It was very beautiful and adventurous for all of us.
