Shurparaka Educational and Medical Trust, M. B. Harris College of Arts and A. E. Kalsekar College of Commerce & Management, is well known for its Academic excellence in Palghar District. It was established in 1984 by a bank of likeminded, dedicated and sincere friends from sopara village with a motto.

From 80 students in 1985, the trust boasts of around 3000 students now in different institution that it runs.

IQAC and NSS unit of SEMT's M. B. Harris College of Arts and A.E. Kalsekar College of Commerce and Management organised Mega Blood Donation Camp on 15th March 2022 in collaboration with Sir J. J. Mahanagar Rakhtapedhi Hospital. Total 40 units were collected from students, teachers and parents.
